The CIBTAC Level 3 Certificate in nail technology is aimed at preparing you to enter the Beauty Therapy sector as a junior nail technician. The units within this qualification have been mapped to the National Occupational Standards and relate specifically to the job role of a nail technician.
The certificate is made up from 4 mandatory units:
Follow health and safety in the salon
Provide manicure and pedicure treatments
Apply and maintain nail enhancements
Design and apply nail art
Home study, revision and research will also be an expectation. It is expected that a total of 297 hours will be required to complete this qualification.
Throughout this qualification, you will develop your knowledge of anatomy and physiology. You will also develop client care skills, communication skills and health and safety.
The certificate contains all the required elements that a nail technician will require to start a career within the nail industry. It will enable you to carry out competent treatments in manicures, pedicures, nail enhancements and basic nail art.
Learners should either be working in or aspiring to join the Beauty Industry if possible. They should ideally have a good general education, including GCSE Mathematics and English, A* – C. This may also include achievement of Functional Skills in Mathematics and English.
As a qualified nail technician, you can progress directly into employment within commercial salons, self-employed / mobile technicians, spas, cruise liners and also retail and training
