This is a comprehensive course that includes both basic practical skills and essential knowledge required in the beauty industry. It is aimed at equipping therapists with skills required for work in salons, destination/day spas, cruise ships, within departmental stores as sales representatives and in training roles.
Mandatory and Optional Units
You are required to achieve 8 core mandatory units and at least one optional unit within this qualification.
The 8 mandatory units are:
Follow health and safety practice in the salon
Client care and communication within beauty related industries
salon reception duties
Provide facial skincare
Remove hair using waxing techniques
Provide manicure treatments
Provide pedicure treatments
Optional units are as follows:
Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments
Provide thermal auricular therapy
Our CIBTAC approved tutors will guide and support you through this rewarding qualification using a range of teaching styles, demonstrations and activities to engage and involve you as you study and learn. You will have access to an on-line learning pack that supports the face-to-face sessions with our tutors.
Learners should either be working in or aspiring to join the Beauty Industry if possible. They should ideally have a good general education, including GCSE Mathematics and English, A* – C. This may also include achievement of Functional Skills in Mathematics and English
CIBTAC’s Level 2 Diploma is good introduction to Level 2 beauty therapy qualifications and is required by most spas and salons within the industry.
Further progress upon achievement of Level 2 Diploma can be:
Level 3 Diploma in beauty therapy
Level 3 Diploma in facial services
Level 3 Certificate in Nail Technology
1 day per week, 20 weeks. Or 2 days per week, 12 weeks.
